1. The UBC academic year 2024-2025 begins on September 1, 2024.
2. Labour Day falls on September 2, 2024, and the University is closed.
3. UBC Winter Term 1 2024 classes start on September 3, 2024. It is most faculties’ first day of classes for the Winter Session Term 1.
4. The first installment of fees must be paid by September 4, 2024.
5. LAW 2024 Summer Session Deferred and Supplemental examinations start on September 9, 2024.
6. Graduation applications for November must be submitted by September 15, 2024.
7. September 16, 2024, is the last day for registration changes and withdrawal without a W standing.
8. The University is closed on September 30, 2024, for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
9. Fees incurred in September must be paid by October 7, 2024.
10. Thanksgiving Day, on October 14, 2024, results in the University being closed.
11. October 15, 2024, is the final doctoral oral examination deadline for November graduation.
12. Withdrawal from most Winter Session Term 1 courses is possible until October 25, 2024.
13. Sponsored students must submit fee submissions for Winter Session Term 2 by November 1, 2024.
14. Remembrance Day on November 11, 2024, leads to the University being closed.
15. The last days for withdrawal from most full-year courses are November 20 to November 22, 2024.
16. Fall Congregation takes place from November 27 to November 29, 2024.
17. December 6, 2024, marks most faculties’ last day of classes.
18. Term 1 (December) examinations conclude on December 21, 2024.
19. The University is closed for Christmas Day and Boxing Day from December 25 to December 26, 2024.
20. December 31, 2024, is the final day of the academic year.

1. The University is closed for New Year’s Day on January 1, 2025.
2. UBC Winter Session Term 2 begins on January 6, 2025.
3. The second installment of fees must be paid by January 8, 2025.
4. January 15, 2025, is the deadline for program changes and readmissions.
5. Most Winter Session Term 2 courses allow withdrawal until January 17, 2025.
6. January 30, 2025, is designated as Community Field Experience Contact Day.
7. Fees incurred in January must be paid by February 7, 2025.
8. The University is closed on February 17, 2025, for Family Day.
9. The Senate meeting takes place on February 19, 2025.
10. Term 2B (Elementary and Middle Years option) classes conclude on March 21, 2025.
11. April 4, 2025, marks the last day for the final oral examination for doctoral students.
12. The University is closed on April 18, 2025, for Good Friday.
13. The Winter Session 2 ends on April 30, 2025.
