Fordham Academic Calendar 2024.

The Fordham academic calendar has important dates and deadlines including holidays, commencement dates, move-in/move-out dates, add/drop dates and exam schedules.

Fordham University operates on a semester system except the Graduate School of Business Administration which operates on a trimester schedule.

The semester system divides the academic year into two equal parts of 14-16 weeks each. The fall semester begins in late August or early September, and the spring semester begins in January. 

The bachelor’s degree programs at Fordham College at Lincoln Center Hill are four-year, eight-semester programs. Degrees are awarded on the successful completion of a minimum of 36 courses of three or more credits each, and 124 credits, with a minimum cumulative index of 2.000, and completion of a major. 

It is expected that students will be in residence during the final semester in which they complete their degree. Students ordinarily take 20 courses (usually three credits) in their first and second years and 16 courses (usually four credits) in their third and fourth years. 

Here are the important dates and deadlines on the Fordham academic calendar calendar for fall 2024.

1. August 15, 2024, is the last day to apply for August 2024 graduation via my.fordham.edu for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS.
2. Fordham New student move-in day is August 25, 2024.
3. FCRH, GSB-UG academic orientation at Rose Hill is on August 26, 2024.
4. FCRH, GSB-UG student affairs orientation at Rose Hill is scheduled for August 27, 2024.
5. Fordham Fall 2024 Classes for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS start on August 28, 2024.
6. The university will be closed on September 2, 2024, for Labor Day.
7. Classes for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS follow a Monday schedule on September 4, 2024.
8. Add/Drop ends, marking the last day for program changes for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS on September 5, 2024.
9. The last day of attendance reporting and Round 1 attendance reports are due on September 13, 2024, according to Fordham academic calendar 2024-2025.
10. The deadline for the removal of INC, NGR, and ABS grades from Summer 2024 for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS is September 20, 2024.
11. The university is closed for Columbus Day on October 14, 2024.
12. Mid-semester evaluations are due for FCRH, FCLC, and GSB-UG on October 29, 2024.
13. The university is closed on November 5, 2024, for the Presidential Election.
14. Fordham Thanksgiving break 2024 is from November 27, 2024, to November 29, 2024. Classes resume for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS on December 2, 2024.
15. The last day for designating a course Pass/Fail and withdrawing from a course without incurring a WF is December 2, 2024.
16. The last day of classes for FCRH, FCLC, and GSB-UG is December 10, 2024.
17. Reading days commence on December 11, 2024, followed by final examinations for Modern Languages on December 12, 2024.
18. Final examinations for FCRH, FCLC, and GSB-UG are scheduled from December 13 to December 20, 2024.
19. The university is closed for Christmas Recess from December 24 to December 31, 2024.
20. December 31, 2024, is the last day to apply for February 2025 graduation via my.fordham.edu for FCRH, FCLC, GSB-UG, and PCS.
21. The university remains closed on January 1, 2025, for Christmas Recess.
